Stop running round, take your time to smell the gunpowder
Run around without thinking about where you are going is a sure way to get killed very quickly. The last thing you want to do is run into a building or around a bunker without knowing what or who is waiting for you. Taking your time to walk, and not run, will give you the precious few second you will need. Use this time to recon the territory and to locate any enemies that are waiting to ambush you.
Always keep those sights up
Using the first tip with this second one will keep you live for a lot longer. Stop running before coming to a corner and raise your sights up as you start walking, slowly.
There is a good chance that an enemy on the other side is doing the running toward that corner, and you will be able to get the drop on them only because you had your weapon up before they did. By the time they try to raise thier weapon and fire at you, you will have already scored the kill on them.
Do not be a camper
Those that camp think they are being smart, and try to get easy kills. If you see a camper, the smart thing to do is to come up behind them and kill them with ease. Camping opens you up for attacks that come from behind. While campers are busy watching the map from their spot, it is all too easy for attackers to come up from behind and rack up their kill score. The other draw back is every one hates a camper in Modern Warfare 3.

Make sure you change your position after you make a kill
Those that camp are just lame. They really are. Although it seems smart to stay in one spot using that sector, it is not a good idea. After you make a kill, that player is going be running right back to that spot seeking revenge on you.
All you have to do is make a move to a different spot than the one where you made the kill. When the attacker comes back for that revenge, you will be able to get a kill shot when you spring your ambush. It’s not exactly camping, but it might be considered a cheap tactic.
The old claymore trick
If you find a place on the map that is heavily traveled, you can use a claymore to decimate them. It is kind of a sneaky tactic, but it works very well. Place the claymore at the choke point on the map and just fire your weapon with a few burst every once in awhile.
By doing this, you light yourself up on the HUD, and this will cause the other players side to come running to you. In their excitement to get an easy kill, they will run right into your claymore surprise. This will destroy them easy, too bad for them.
